IVF

IVF  (In Vitro Fertilisation) is a method of assisted reproductive whereby at least one stages of human reproduction (preparation of sex cells, insemination process or embryo cultivation) occur in a laboratory, outside of the female body.

Ask a question

IVF (In Vitro Fertilisation) is a method of assisted reproductive technologies. The ovum is fertilized outside the body of a woman in a laboratory.

After the insemination embryos are transferred to uterine cavity. There they continue to develop in the natural environment of a woman's body. If during the treatment more embryos were obtained than necessary, the remaining embryos can be frozen and kept for ten years.

Do not despair if you do not possess your own germ cells. You still have a chance to become a parent! We in AVA CLINIC for more than twenty years have been successfully providing treatments with cells of the donors.

We offer customized programs. Our recipient receives all eggs donated by a donor during the particular cycle of ovarian stimulation. AVA CLINIC chooses donors very carefully; we try to match them to the needs of our recipients as closely as possible, including the similarity of appearance.

We know that every day you need to wait to become pregnant is excruciatingly slow. Therefore we do our best to begin the treatment as soon as possible. In our clinic you do not need to wait for a donor. You can begin the treatment today! The whole cycle of treatment using donated cells from the first visit till the embryo transfer lasts only two to three months

Own eggs and partner's sperm

It is infertility treatment using genetic material of both partners, which is recommended to heterosexual couples in which one or both partners were diagnosed with infertility or if there is no pregnancy after a certain period of time (6–12 months).

This treatment is recommended in case of both male and female infertility:

- In case of changes in semen parameters; - In case of severe forms of endometriosis; - In case of fallopian tube obstruction or damage; - In case of severe forms of hormonal infertility; - In case of prolonged infertility, despite satisfactory screening results.

To increase your chances of getting pregnant, your doctor will recommend using assisted reproductive technologies such as:

- Embryo cultivation to the blastocyst stage; - Time-lapse incubation and imaging using a time-lapse incubator; - Sperm selection using the FertilPlus or MACS methods; - Use of special mediums, i.e. EmbryoGen and BlastGen, for embryo cultivation; - Preimplantation genetic testing for aneuploidy (PGT-A); - Embryo glue

Own eggs and donor sperm

Infertility treatment using donor sperm is offered to single women (who do not have a sexual partner) and to couples with infertility due to the male factor. As a rule, this method provides high success rates because donor sperm satisfies the optimal quantity and quality requirements. At AVA Clinic, you will be proposed to choose a donor from a base of local donors or from European sperm banks.

Treatment using donor sperm is recommended in the following cases:

 - Absence of sperm in your partner’s semen; - Congenital genetic disorders or chromosomal abnormalities in males; - Severe sperm abnormalities (including after treatment of cancer); - Women who do not have a sexual partner (including female couples).

Selection of a sperm donor takes place based on the key biometric characteristics:

•          Hair colour •          Eye colour •          Height •          Weight

Additional parameters (education, occupation, hobbies, etc.) may be taken into account if requested by patients. During this treatment, your eggs will be fertilised by the sperm of the donor that you select from the sperm bank.

During your IVF treatment using donor sperm, you will be able to discuss with your doctor the use of the following additional assisted reproductive technologies:

- Embryo cultivation to the blastocyst stage; - Time-lapse incubation and imaging using a time-lapse incubator; - Use of special mediums, i.e. EmbryoGen and BlastGen, for embryo cultivation; - Preimplantation genetic testing for aneuploidy (PGT-A); - Embryo glue

Donor eggs and partners's sperm

The IVF using donor eggs provides women with a unique opportunity to get pregnant and giving birth even if they do not have any of their own eggs. During this treatment, the eggs of the donor of your choice are fertilised by your partner sperm.

Treatment using donor eggs is recommended in the following cases: - Premature ovarian failure, e.g. by reason of ovarian surgeries, radio therapy or chemotherapy to treat cancer, etc.; - Early menopause; - Recurrent unsuccessful IVF attempts using own eggs; - Poor or no response to ovarian stimulation in late reproductive age (after 38–40 years of age); - Certain genetic disorders.

AVA CLINIC pays certain attention to the selection of donors.

The initial selection of a donor is based on the following main biometric characteristics:

•          Hair colour •          Eye colour •          Height •          Weight

Subsequent selection of a donor for patients is performed by a coordinator of the clinic on a case-by-case basis, based on the phenotypic similarity of the recipient and the donor. To achieve maximum physical similarity, the coordinator may use photographs. Additional parameters (educational background, occupation, hobbies, donor age, whether the donor has children, blood group) are taken into account at patients’ request.

Our success rate is 86% (cumulative result after 3 treatment attempts).

During your IVF treatment using donor eggs, you will be able to discuss with your doctor the use of the following additional assisted reproductive technologies:

- Preimplantation genetic testing for aneuploidy (PGT-A); - Embryo glue; - Sperm selection using the FertilPlus or MACS methods.

Donor eggs and donor sperm

It is infertility treatment using donor embryos (complex treatment using donor eggs and donor sperm) (embryo donation/adoption). At AVA Clinic, patients may opt for treatment using both donor eggs and donor sperm.

The use of both donor egg and donor sperm is required when patient eggs and sperm cannot be used for infertility treatment.

Latvian legislation allows using donor eggs and donor sperm within a single treatment not only to heterosexual couples but also to women who do not have a sexual partner.

It is infertility treatment whereby the eggs of the donor of your choice are fertilised by the sperm of the donor from the sperm bank.

Treatment using donor embryos is recommended in the following cases:

- Premature ovarian failure, e.g. by reason of ovarian surgeries, radio therapy or chemotherapy to treat cancer, etc.; - Early menopause; - Recurrent unsuccessful IVF attempts using own eggs; - Poor or no response to ovarian stimulation in late reproductive age (after 38–40 years of age); - Certain genetic disorders; - Absence of sperm in your partner’s semen; - Congenital genetic disorders or chromosomal abnormalities in males; - Severe sperm abnormalities (including after treatment of cancer); - Women who do not have a sexual partner (including female couple).
